Words of Flying

My friend asked me if I knew how it felt to fly
Naturally since being in a plane I said "yes"
But then she said without wings

It made me think of if I have
I didn't know for sure
If she meant it literally of figurative in mind.

If she meant it literally then i have never flown
Never defied gravity
Never gone as much a 7 feet
Without falling

But if she meant it figuratively
Then I do it every day

By leaping into music
I fly away for safety

By leaping into friendships
I fly away for shelter

By trusting my instincts
Trusting music
Trusting friends

Yes...
I have flown
